Richmond Animal Care and Control officials are looking for the person who shamelessly left a dog for dead at Abner Clay Park in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday.
The poor canine was apparently tied to a pole, covered in accelerant and intentionally set on fire, WTVR reported.
“Witnesses saw a adult male suspect wearing multiple layers of pants run from the scene towards Belvidere Street,” RACC shared on Facebook.
The RACC started naming the dog Tommie and is currently treating him for burn injuries covering over 40 percent of his body at the Virginia Veterinary Centers.
“I have to say that we don’t get rattled by much at RACC and have witnessed ugly cases but this one makes us want to just sit on the floor and cry,” the RACC wrote on Facebook.
The RACC is asking for the public’s asistance in locating the man that initiated such a horrible act on this innocent dog.
“ANY information, anything you saw, anyone you suspect, if you have ever seen this dog, please call or message it in – no information is insignificant,” the RACC wrote.
“We want to find the person responsible for this heinous crime.”
