Reese Witherspoon Opens Up About The Abusive Relationship That Changed Her Life

Toxic relationships can not only leave your devoid of any hope for a better future but also bring about drastic transformations in your very soul so that you will never be the same again. That said, it is always best to break away from such abrasive relationships and associate yourself with those that truly wish to see you happy. Famous Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has never failed to awe the audiences with her powerful performances on screen. However, the very epitome of intellect and confidence, Reese was not always the fighter that we see today.

During an interview for the SuperSoul Sunday with Oprah Winfrey, Reese explained that the most difficult decision that she ever made was to walk away from an abusive relationship when she was very young. When questioned by Winfrey about what made her make such a decision, Reese replied, “A line got drawn in the sand, and it got crossed. My brain just switched, and I knew it was going to be very difficult, but I just couldn’t go any further…It changed who I was on a cellular level.”

Having made such a profound decision so early in life, Reese eventually developed the strength and confidence to stand up for herself and mold her future with her own hands. She added, “It’s part of the reason I can stand up and say, ‘Yes, I’m ambitious,’ because somebody tried to take that from me.”
