Las Vegas police have released security video showing a woman shoving a 74-year-old man off a public bus after the man asked her to be nice to other passengers.
The video shows Serge Fournier landing face-first on a sidewalk east of downtown on March 21. At the time of the incident, the 74 year old refused medical treatment. He died April 23.
Following Fournier’s death, the man’s family notified Las Vegas police on May 3rd. Cadesha Michelle Bishop, 25, seen in the video pushing the 74 year old was arrested May 6th.
The Clark County coroner ruled Fournier’s death a homicide resulting from his injuries.
Following her arrest Cadesha Bishop was charged with murder and remains jailed on $100,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing of evidence May 21.
In the CCTV clip taken from the bus’ security cameras, a woman can be seen talking to Fournier as he walked past carrying a walker and heading towards the door. Moments earlier the man had asked the 25 year old woman to be ‘nicer’ to fellow passengers after she’d been heard cursing other riders.
With his back turned to the woman as he now makes to alight the bus, video showed Bishop with both hands pushing against the unawares 74 year old man- shoving Fournier down the steps of the public transit bus and smashing his face on the concrete ground.
In police documents- Bishop is accused of shoving Fournier out the door ‘with enough force that he never touched any of the steps’ before hitting his head about eight feet (2.4 meters) from the bus.
According to the arrest report, witnesses saw her walking away from the bus without offering Fournier help, grabbing her son’s hand and leading him away.
Please pray for all the families involved in this. Pray for this world we live in that this can happen to someone for asking someone to be nice.
