Watching children play is always something I enjoy doing. Seeing their eyes light up, observing their imagination and hearing the laughter makes it a real treat. Most toys have age recommendations and warnings on them. This is helpful from the manufacturers, but parental guidance is still very important. MIshaps can happen such as a part breaking off. This was the unfortunate case for little boy Beck.
The young boy enjoyed building and stacking things together. One of his favorite toys included colorful shapes that stuck together with magnets. One day a piece broke and the little magnets feel out. It was at that point that Beck swallowed 13 of the tiny parts.
Becks mother Jennifer shared the incident on social media in an effort to warn parents and keep others updated on his story.
After the discovery, Jennifer kept an optimistic attitude despite her concerns.
“Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts ❤️all the good vibes and juju are needed. We are headed to Children’s hospital in Milwaukee.”
She also took expressed her thoughts on the actual toy piece and shared an image of the blue triangle part.
“If you have little ones or chewers these are dangerous and we’re removing them from our home. Dogs could also break these open too.”
Jennifer shared details of the toy’s effects after her son’s procedure was complete.
“Updated: He has finished with surgery they had to remove part of his colon, intestines and appendix. The magnets created holes and infection in his intestines. He has to stay in Children’s for at least 3-4 days. They need to restart his bowels and watching the infection. He is high risk still and please keep him in your thoughts and prayers thank you ?”
Little Beck is still currently recovering and doing well after 4 days in the hospital so far. He is resting, healing and getting better day by day.
