Babies are such a gift to us all. Their cute little giggles and faces are so heartwarming. Being a parent can have it’s difficult moments as well. The desire to love and protect a child is one that is incredibly powerful. This is the mission of Aurora’s mother, to save her life.
Aurora Shane was born in July of 2017 with an imperfect heart. There is no cure for her other than a new baby heart. It’s been very difficult for the family to locate a donor with a heart that tiny.
A social media page has been created for Aurora with the hopes of spreading the word. The page explains the situation.
“Because of her size, she has not received many offers. Blood type and weight are a key factor, a donor who weighs 20-50 pounds is needed and her blood type is A+.”
Her mom has been very vocal about the emotional ups and downs. She is doing everything she can think of to locate a donor and save her daughter.
“Sharing this on social media is a long shot but it has worked and after living in the hospital for almost two years with Rori, I’ve heard firsthand of these stories.”
Aurora has been waiting for a new heart for 200 days. Her health is slowly turning for the worst. Her mother made another announcement and plea via social media.
“Rori is in decline,” her post currently reads. “She needs a heart NOW, but could there be another specialized procedure like the one she received at Stanford that could give her more time until a match is available?”
The family is doing their best to explore all possible options.
Please keep Aurora and all children with health concerns in your prayers.
