52-year old actor Luke Perry was hospitalized after suffering a massive stroke according to news outlets.
TMZ and The Blast reported that paramedics were called to the 90210 actor’s home in Sherman Oaks, Calif., on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. to treat a person suffering a stroke. Perry, who leaped to stardom in the ’90s on Beverly Hills 90210 tv show, was then transported to the hospital.
A spokesperson for the actor told Yahoo News that “Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital,” but gave no further details.
On Thursday afternoon, TMZ reported that a source from the Perry family said the star had been put in a medically induced coma.
However, Perry’s rep said that is not true.
The website now reports that Perry is “sedated.” He was responsive and talking with the paramedics initially.
Perry’s health scare occurred the very day that his former 90210 co-stars announced their Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot on Fox this summer. The actor and a father of two, did not sign on to star in the project as of yet, which will feature Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling, returning to their roles. Perry played ‘bad boy’ Dylan McKay.
We are praying for Perry’s recovery.
