The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1
Wonders All Around
Remember as a child lying in the grass, how you would look up and watch the clouds scroll across the sky? Sometimes the sky was blue and the clouds barely seemed to move, just a little at a time, taking on shapes like circus animals and giant objects. Other times, a gray sky filtered frantic storm clouds past you, waiting to unload rain and thunder and lightning.
Today a cloudy sky can take us back to childhood as it beckons us to identify shapes and faces amidst the cumulous and nimbus formations. Whether gray rain clouds or giant cotton balls of fluffy white, the clouds also carry another message within their folds. As the stars at night, the clouds reveal the glorious and beautiful handiwork of our Creator.
Like so many of the natural elements around us, most days we take the skies and clouds for granted. And yet, like an artist’s signature to a masterpiece, they urge us to remember the Source of so much beauty.
Pray: “Lord, I marvel at the wonders of your creation. Thank you for the countless beautiful ways you demonstrate your creativity and power around me every day.”
