…we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Colossians 1:9
Asking others for prayer is not always easy. While we’re more than willing to pray for the people in our lives, it feels vulnerable and needy to request that they do the same for us. And yet God’s Word clearly instructs us to pray as individuals as well as with others. Sharing burdens with others and experiencing God’s answers and provisions bond us as a spiritual community in ways that praying alone does not.
When we hear of an answered prayer from someone for whom we’ve been praying, we rejoice with them and remain aware of God’s presence throughout the world. When we can share our needs with others, we feel lighter and even comforted, grateful not to be alone with our burden any longer.
God created us as social beings who are to be in relationships with one another. And as we relate to him as our Father, he wants us to enjoy the fellowship of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, enjoy being part of the family of God.
