Read our devotion today that focuses on Nahum 1:7. “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” – Nahum 1:7
In a rainstorm, we take refuge wherever we can find a safe, dry shelter that covers us. Most of the time, we like to be in a house or building to escape the storm, but sometimes a doorway, bus stop, or cave keeps us out of harm’s way. We may still get a little wet, but we’re safe from the brunt of the storm.
During the storms of life, God wants to cover us the same way. When we run to him, we can experience his care and compassion, a safe shelter from all the harsh words, hurtful actions, and hateful harassment of a bad day. Like warming before a fireplace after getting soaked by the rain, we can experience the renewed energy to venture out again the next day.
Regardless of the kind of weather you experience today, God is there for you.
