We don’t have to worry much about directions anymore. We have lots of gadgets, apps, and programs to help us navigate to our destinations. Most of them get us there by the most direct route possible, occasionally factoring in variables such as traffic, construction, and weather. Sometimes, though, mapping systems aren’t up to date or contain a glitch that sends us on a tangent or, worse, gets us lost.

Similarly, our lives rarely seem to take the direct route from one milestone to another. While we might like the predictability that comes from knowing exactly where we’re going at all times and how we’ll get there, much of the time we don’t. This doesn’t mean we don’t have a reliable guide, however.

God constantly provides us with his guidance and direction. When we trust him with each decision we make and each step we take, we can rest in his sovereignty.
