A 25-year-old magician, not even born during the Rubik’s Cube’s 80’s heyday, utilized the iconic puzzle to stun judges during the latest “Got Talent America” episode. Steven Brundage even gets into the act with judges Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell as they help him in mixing and reversing the square, colored patterns in his designs.
“There’s 43 quintillion different ways you can mix it up,” Brundage says of the cube before dropping the mixed up puzzle into a small bag. Seconds later, he pulls the cube out of the bag with solid patterns realigned. When Klum asked to see the bag, the magician proved to her that it was empty.
A tale from Times Union claims that the magician based in Saratoga Springs, New York, is still performing this trick around his hometown region, even hosting a viewing party for his TV show debut. Brundage’s website reports that this wasn’t his first time on TV, as he previously appeared on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show,” and “The Steve Harvey Show.”
