Imagine being hungry, dressed up and with your loved ones ready for an enjoyable evening meal. The clinking of the pates, the smell of the food and the chatter of those eating already. You’re ready to sit down and start the night. For one family, there was a small delay. They could not sit at a table that had room for them despite no one being there. The reason why is very touching.
At Texas Roadhouse in Dallas, Texas, a group wanted to dine in. They noticed an available table but were not allowed to sit at it. After looking closer, they realized it was decorated with a Texas flag and an American flag. There were place settings for five people, water glasses and a candle. A note on the table stated who the table was being held for. It explained the loss of five police officers who were killed. The company wanted to pay their respects to them by reserving the table.
“We remember and honor the five slain police officers, Sergeant Michael J. Smith, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, and Mr. Brent Thompson, who worked for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department, that the Texas Roadhouse restaurant reserved a table for. We thank you for your service. May you rest in peace.”
What a meaningful gesture for the restaurant to do. We are sending prayers for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. We are truly thankful for all they do.
