Ballplayers Stop Game In Tears And Start Praying After Little Girl Is Hit By 105 MPH Foul Ball

105 MPH Foul Ball Hits Toddler – Moves Players to Tears

In a Yankee’s game against the Minnesota Twins in September 2017, third baseman Todd Frazier hit a line drive foul ball into the stands, striking a two-year-old little girl. Despite the famous quote from “League of Their Own” there was crying in baseball that day. The game stopped temporarily while a doctor in the stands and her family quickly began treatment.

“She was in the ER and had skull fractures and bleeding on the brain. She was in a neck brace, and both eyes were severely swollen shut, and she had the stitching of the baseball cut into her forehead.”

The scene was so gruesome that ESPN commentators said they could not show footage of the child or the hit.

This incident, along with several other accidental crowd injuries during games prompted the Yankee’s and other teams in the MLB to raise extended safety netting along the foul lines of first and third base.

In an interview after the game, Frazier remarked how upset he was at the accident, saying he has “two children at home under the age of three” and he couldn’t help but think of them when this accident happened.

Since this accident, the girl’s father, Geoffrey Jacobson, gave an interview to the New York Post and in it, he states his daughter is still dealing with the trauma of the foul ball. In this interview, he describes his daughter’s injuries.

“She was in the ER and had skull fractures and bleeding on the brain. She was in a neck brace, and both eyes were severely swollen shut, and she had the stitching of the baseball cut into her forehead.”

One of her eyes sustained an injury she is still receiving treatment for but also notes that her youth is a blessing since her little body is a “cell-making factory.”

We are glad the little girl is on the mend and that MLB is stepping it up to protect the fans of the game.
