Usher’s big break came when co-founder of LaFace Records, L.A. Reid discovered him at a talent show. He made his first album at age 14, and followed it three years later, with his second album, My Way. Singer Babyface, the other co-founder of LaFace Records, as a producer on the project. It has now sold over 6 million copies in the U.S., meaning it has gone platinum six times over. It was that album that also got the attention of Janet Jackson, who invited Usher to tour with her.
