Senior Airman Jibril Jennings was riding down a highway close to Oklahoma City when he spotted a group of cars swerving around something on the highway. As he approached the hazard, he noticed the drivers were moving out of the way so they would not hit a lady who was walking in the road with grocery bags.
“When I got up to her, I asked her, ‘Would you like a ride?’ She said, ‘Thank you, I would love that,’” Jibril said.
Jibril assisted the struggling elderly woman, who has now been identified as Janice Hall, load bag after bag into his car’s trunk. It was at that moment that a nearby woman recorded the act of kindness.
Amber Roy witnessed the sweet man helping out and recorded the moment, later uploading the clip to Facebook. It wasn’t long before the video went viral.
“There was a human being in the middle of the road that obviously needed help, and everyone was just driving past,” he said. “I don’t think this is a hero’s moment. I think this is something anybody should be able to do. If this qualifies for a hero, anybody could be a hero.”
After that, Jibril drove Janice to her home. Then, on their way, the two became fast friends.
“I really appreciated it and he was such a good man and you just don’t find people like that every day,” she said.
After that, Jibril reportedly eevn recruited fellow airmen to help repair a ramp at Janice’s home.
