The year 2019 has had its ups and downs. It’s been a season of great pain and loss for many. Trying to understanding why certain things happen can be mentally draining. For some, looking at the positive and keeping our eye’s on God may be a desire, but feels like a difficult struggle.
It is important to acknowledge where we are emotionally right now and know this isn’t the end of our healing. We can still be gentle with ourselves, love our selves and know that God is still with us in these moments. Even when he feels far away, this simply isn’t true.
With Christmas around the corner and the new year approaching, emotions may have more of an impact. This could be the first Christmas without a loved one, a holiday with new circumstances, or questions about the future.
This could be the first holiday where you wouldn’t mind moving fast forward to 2019. Skipping past memories, moments and Christmas altogether.
In this whirlwind of thoughts and feelings, remember that the creator of the universe completely accessible to us. He loves us and wants a true relationship together. All we have to do is pray.
Prayer not only allows a release of our emotions to God, but it opens an opportunity to receive. It could be guidance, love, answers, peace and so much more.
Please stay encouraged and allow God to love and hug you. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this season, remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Let’s pray.
