Often at the beginning of a new year, you’re faced with lots of decisions. Whether it’s scheduling meetings, trips, and events, or choosing how you’ll spend your time and money, you cast a vision for how you’d like the next twelve months to go. You can plan all you want, but if the Lord isn’t the compass at the heart of your choices, you’re bound to get lost.

When we turn to God and ask for his guidance, he delights in leading us to fulfill our purpose. We may still face obstacles and challenges, but we can persevere knowing that he is leading the way before us. Even when suffering painful circumstances, we can experience joy, because we know that God is with us, directing our paths and protecting our heart.
