Kahlief Hill, who runs the Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania Hampton Inn, was on the phone working a Friday night at the front desk when he looked up to discover a 13-year-old kid named Colin standing there.
Hill then asked the kid if he’d like to see a card trick.
Kahlief and Colin swapped magic tricks over the next 30 minutes.
The following night, Kahlief and Colin shared more tricks and chatted at the front desk.
When Colin went to bed, his mother Megan told Hill that strangers do not usually treat her son with so much kindness and respect.
He could have very easily told Colin that he was busy, or that he would return later, or any number of things, but he didn’t. He permitted Colin to hang out with him at the desk, watching Colin do card tricks and showing Colin some tricks he also knew. Colin never once had the feeling of being a nuisance or a burden.
Megan posted about the act of kindness on Facebook, along with a photo of the pair working on card tricks.
