It’s such a blessing to live a long and healthy life. Along with this gift sometimes comes the inability to physically do certain things. Some may need a cane to assist with walking, a hearing aid to make things a little louder, or an extra set of hands to help with housework. Some people take advantage of others as life gets harder in your later years. Such predators understand that senior citizens can be easy targets, and every now and then, we hear terrible stories all the time about a senior who’s been tricked into giving away everything they own.
One senior lady who absolutely did not want to leave her home behind is a 93-year-old woman from Alabama, USA.
Despite her old age, she had good amounts of energy and managed completely on her own. But what she didn’t know was that two men who lived nearby had been watching her every move for a while.
Two neighbors, Rodney Smith Jr. and Terrence Stroy noticed their 93-year-old neighbor as she walked outside one afternoon. They were familiar with her typical habits, as they had seen her for years. They saw something out of the ordinary and couldn’t stand by and watch without doing something.
The active senior was trying to mow her lawn all by herself. The two men would not have it. They immediately took action and ran over to her house. They ended up cutting the entire yard for her. In addition to helping her for that day, they promised to assist her for the rest of her life with free lawn service.
The men shared the story on social media.
“We did this sweet lady’s lawn today. She is 93, the neighbors told us that she been out there trying to cut her own lawn ?. Have no fear, raising men lawn care is going to make sure her lawn is done every two weeks! Making a difference in our community!”
The men are both college students and created their organization to aid those in need of yard help while educating young kids about being responsible.
“It came to me, I should do something about it. That’s when I decided to cut free lawns for elderly, disabled and single parent mothers for free,” said Rodney.
What a great way to love and be kind to your neighbor.
