Richard Cole admits he’s wasn’t a religious man, but he’s changed his life forever after an amazing encounter with God. He had one of the most shocking moments in his life in August 2005. Richard’s doctor found he had an aneurysm and he was internally bleeding. He was told he had only 10 percent chance of survival and was admitted the next morning to the hospital for surgery.
After the anesthesiologist gave Richard a dose of anesthesia, he found out he was still conscious. Right then, two beams of light streamed over his right shoulder and he started to turn around and see what happened. Then he heard a loud voice saying “Don’t turn around, because if you see my face, you’ll have to stay here.”
During their conversation, Richard could feel that someone powerful was walking back and forth behind him and sitting in a plain white chair. And He knew that it was God.
The next thing that happened, God asked him, “Do you have any questions before you leave?” After thinking long and hard, Richard asked, “What’s the meaning of life?”.
God answered, “When you go back, we will sit down, and you can ask me all of the questions you have and I’ll answer them for you.”
Richard turned around when it was time to go back, and God put His arms around him. During that moment, he never forgot how he felt. According to him, it was unconditional love that Richard could not explain. He heard the nurse say the next thing that happened was that he was ready to come round. Nine days later, he was discharged from the hospital, with his life completely changed. He was no longer afraid of death.
Then a week later, Richard met somebody who had gone through the same thing. When Richard asked him about the meaning of life, the man shared the perfect answer: “It’s all about love.”
After that, Richard decided to study the Bible and follow Jesus and now, he’s a faithful believer.
Indeed, everything in life is all about love. God Himself is the essence of love. So if you want to enjoy and live life to the fullest, then learn to love. And you can only learn how to share love unconditionally if you are connected to the source of love Himself, God.
