What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
Job requirements often determine whether we’re qualified to apply for a particular position. Sometimes employers want a certain educational degree or years of experience in the field. They may want us to have training with certain software or knowledge of industry systems. When someone first begins their career, it can be frustrating because everyone wants you to have experience but no one gives you the opportunity.
We don’t have to apply for a position with God. He adopts us as his sons and daughters when we accept Christ into our hearts and commit to following him. This doesn’t mean that God doesn’t require anything from us, but it does reassure us that he takes us just as we are. We don’t need certain prerequisites to be saved by his grace.
In our walk with him, God wants us to “walk the talk,” literally. If our focus is truly on knowing, loving, and serving him, then what we think, say, and do will reflect his goodness.

Pray: “Lord, remind me that you accept me just as I am, right where I am. Keep my eyes on you as I go through my day, allowing me to reflect your love.”
