Parents always want to have the best for their children, it’s just part of their nature! That’s why one Indiana mother is speaking out saying she was shocked and outraged after her son sent a photo to her showing the sandwich he was given at school because he forgot his lunch money.
The mother, Amy Wittaker Anders, shared the photo in a post on Facebook and explained that her son had forgotten his lunch money at school one day. She says that when her son told the school staff he didn’t have his lunch money, they gave him a peanut butter sandwich. But, as soon as he took the meal he discovered that the sandwich was covered in mold.
Anders said that her son found mold on both the outside and inside of his sandwich. When he told the staff members about the mold, he was given a replacement meal but claims he was too afraid to eat it. “I have no idea how someone could not see this was bad when handing it out,” Anders wrote in her Facebook post. In response to Anders’ complaint, the Avon Community School Corporation has released a statement the reads: “We are grateful to be made aware of the situation and have reached out to the parents and apologized. This is an unacceptable human error and we are looking into it to ensure that this never happens again.”
