God is here for us and wants us to cry out to him whenever we are in anguish. He is our comforter and is always has his arms wide open to receive us. Right now, a few families in Los Angeles need your prays after a car accident has left one man dead and two others injured. The accident involved a Ferrari which flipped over and crashed into a Toyota SUV and a BMW. The driver of the Ferrari, 71-year-old Mark Gibello, was killed and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Sitting in Gibello’s passenger’s seat was professional golfer Bill Haas. Haas was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. Another individual who was injured was the unidentified driver of the BMW. The driver, who is said to be a 50-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital. The driver of the Toyota SUV, which was only sideswiped in the accident, was that of actor Luke Wilson. Fortunately, Wilson was not injured in the crash. “His vehicle basically just got clipped by the Ferrari,” Jeff Fischer, a detective from the Los Angeles Police Department, said. It seems as though Wilson’s car was spared the brunt of the damage.
Although some initial reports claimed that Haas was in “serious condition,” it appears that the golfer is doing better after being treated at the hospital. Haas was in town for the Genesis Open, and the man who was killed in the crash was a member of the family who was hosting the golfer for that week. Jay Haas, Bill’s father, said that Bill had been released from the hospital a day after the crash. He said that the golfer has pain and swelling his leg but is fortunate to have avoided breaking any bones. “Bill was very fortunate,” Jay said. Bill has since withdrawn from the Genesis Open and plans to return to his home while still recovering from the crash.
Now, police are reviewing surveillance footage from the crash to determine the cause. Please pray for the family of the Mark Gibello and for the continued recovery of Haas and the other unnamed drive.
