These people may have begun their journey in search of cheap travel packages, but they weren’t expecting this to be included.
WestJet, an airline renowned for its discounted airfares, has a knack for pulling off amazing vacation stunts— and this one is no different from the others. It’s outstanding, in other words.
Lucky passengers were told to have a discussion with Santa before jumping on the aircraft on two flights bound for Calgary. One kid asked for a “choo-choo train” and asked for a large TV from his mom and dad. A tech-minded kid asked for a tablet and one adult asked for socks and underwear.
The adults were pleased to go along with the idea because it gave their children a opportunity to speak to Big Red, although this year he was decked out in purple. Little did they understand that on the other side of their journey they would have an enormous surprise waiting for them.
After all, the Santa stand of WestJet wasn’t a charade. While all of these families were up in the air, Westjetters got to work in Calgary.
The bona fide elves, rushing from shop to shop, checked items off lists diligently as they rushed to finish their vacation shopping. However, they were shopping for the passengers.
The reaction on the faces of the families made it all worthwhile, and for that the WestJet team was all in. In another WestJet video, WestJet VP Richard Bartrem notes that “culture at WestJet is all about fun, friendly and caring, and our team … really knocked it out of the park once again.”
You might just need to book with WestJet the next time you’re searching for inexpensive travel packages. Of course, the hotel may not be included, but these caring employees will certainly make you feel right at home. It seems like WestJet is doing stuff right in the crowded arena of airline travel.
