According to reports, a two-year-old boy and his father, who sparked a statewide Amber Alert, were found dead. Family members say that father, Steven Weir, and two-year-old son John were found in Tuolumne County, near the red Hyundai Elantra that law enforcement had been searching for all weekend.
Wife and mother Sarah Weir was informed that the bodies of her son and estranged husband, had been found. The Merced County Sheriff’s Office, who had searched for the pair for days on end, said that Weir had abducted his song. Heartbroken Sarah is now speaking out: “This is absolutely my worst nightmare, and I feel like I’m living in a dream that won’t stop, I can’t wake up from this. It won’t go away.”
It’s said that Sarah and Steven were going through a divorce, with Steven appearing to be growing aggressive and emotional in recent days. Steven was supposed to meet Sarah on Saturday, but he didn’t show up at their custody exchange location. Sarah feared that Steven could hurt her son, still, she and many others were praying for another outcome.
To date, investigators have not released any more details about the causes of death or how the bodies were located. This is a truly the saddest ending to a tragic story.
We send all our prayers for hope and peace to Sarah and the rest of the grieving family. Would you please join us in praying for her, too?
