The viral moment in Alabama which recently brought a photographer to tears has now gained national attention.
This week in Atlanta, Fox 5 published a story based on a recent Facebook post by Brittany Calden in Madison, Alabama.
In an unexpected photograph taken by Calden while with her daughter in the Madison Chick-fil-A kids play area, an employee is seen in prayer over a customer.
Calden told FOX 5 that Stephen Spray, a man portrayed as a long-time employee of this Chick-fil-A, was known as “Mr. Steve” Steve never fails to go up to a table asking how your day is going and always trying to make your day better than before you saw him before, “advised Calden.
Spray told Calden he did not know the woman in the photo, and the “Spirit led him to pray for her,” calling the opportunity a blessing.
According to Calden, “That’s not unusual,” “I work at a place where if I’m led to pray for someone, I’m able to do that and I’ll do it right on the spot. People need prayer, encouragement, and love. Calden said something special is going on here with this Chick-fil-A, and the Alabamians who work there. That’s what we are trying to do here.
“As soon as we enter we are greeted by our names, it’s seriously unreal,” she says. “They hold my baby when my hands are full and go out of their way to make us feel good. The next day, we left, and an employee went to my daughter to hug her before she was able to go. They don’t do what they do for recognition. These employees have hearts that are led by Jesus and its evident every time we enter their restaurant.” Calden added that Spray had no idea she was taking his picture and that he prayed for the woman because that is simply the type of person he is. “And because of who he represents, Christ,” she said.
On Thursday, after the story was told by Fox 5, Fox News introduced a national audience.
Calden reiterated to Fox News, “It caught me off guard. I never saw anybody asking to pray in a public setting before for someone else. It was genuine and moving to testify and the action attracted me to tears.”
