The Bible tells us that there are evil forces in this world. In fact, the new testament tells us that Jesus cast out demons while he was in his ministry here on earth. Demons are scary and not to be messed with, but luckily we have the power of Christ on our side to protect us!
One home in Gary, Indiana is known for being deeply haunted. The structure is actually referred to as the “demon house” and it is said to be one of the most possessed homes in the world. The demons house became famous back in 2014 after a woman and her three children claimed to be possessed by demons while in the home. People also claim that a 9-year-old boy had become possessed at the house and walked backward up a wall in the presence of a family case manager and a hospital nurse. The house is so scary that even the police are terrified of it. Gary police Capt. Charles Austin said that this house was the strangest story he had ever heard. Latoya Ammons, her three young children, and her mother had moved into the house back in 2011 and the strange occurrences started right away. It is said that big, black flies suddenly swarmed their porch when they first arrived in the middle of winter. “This is not normal,” Ammons’ mother, Rosa Campbell, said. “We killed them and killed them and killed them, but they kept coming back.”
Late at night, the family said that they would hear footsteps climbing up from the basement. They also said that there would constantly be noised that sounded like doors opening and closing. They would always lock the doors, but the noises never stopped. Then, one night, the grandmother of the children claimed she saw a “man” pacing her living room. She even found wet bootprints on the floor, but no one was there. But, the scariest thing that happened was when one night, in the midst of grieving a deceased family friend, the 12-year-old girl in the family was found in her bedroom levitating several feet above the bed, and entirely unconscious.
The family was so desperate to move but they couldn’t afford it, so they enlisted the help of their church. The church agreed there was something in the home, so they came and burned sage and sulfur. But, the demon still persisted and began possessing Ammons and her three children who were 7, 9, and 12 at the time. The kids’ eyes would bulge and they smiled in strange ways. The youngest boy even tried to kill his older brother at one point. According to the report: “He walked up the wall, flipped over her and stood there. There’s no way he could’ve done that.” The family became so desperate to get rid of these demons, so they performed a dramatic exorcism. But, the whole thing only ended once they left the home. Then, in 2014, the home which was thought to be a “portal to hell” was sold and two years later, the owner had it knocked down. “Something was inside that house that had the ability to do things that I have never seen before — things that others carrying the highest forms of credibility couldn’t explain either,” the new owner said. “There was something there that was very dark yet highly intelligent and powerful.”
