The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
Nahum 1:7
When your heart is troubled, it can be hard to sort out all that you’re feeling. And it can be harder still to know what to do with those emotions. You don’t want to unleash them on those around you, the people you care about. But you know you can’t keep them bottled up inside. And God doesn’t want you to bury them—that’s how bitterness, jealousy, and envy sprout into your life.
Whatever it is, God wants you to share it with him. Lay down your burden before him, knowing that he can always handle what you can’t. If you’re willing to face your feelings and examine the people and events to which they’re connected, it’s easier to be honest before God.
On the other hand, when you stuff them, ignore them, or deny them, you’re setting yourself up for much greater problems. So turn your cares over to God today. Feel today’s weight lifted from your shoulders.

Pray: “Lord, I don’t want to act on my feelings or let them control my decisions, but I can’t ignore them either. Help me express them constructively.”
