No More Hiding

Spilling tomato sauce on a white blouse. Leaving your wallet at home when it’s your turn to pay. Saying something negative before thinking about its impact. Taking a sick day from work and running into your boss at the mall.

We’ve all done things that make us feel embarrassed, awkward, or outright ashamed. From little accidents that happen to everyone to situations that snowball out of control from a bad decision we’ve made, most of us know that feeling of wanting to hide our mistakes.

Adam and Eve experienced the same feeling after disobeying God in the Garden. They grabbed fig leaves to cover their nakedness as they ran to hide. They knew they had blown it and couldn’t bear to face their Father.

Thanks to the gift of salvation through Christ, we have nothing to be ashamed of ever again. Today, you don’t have to hide.

Pray: “Father, I’m so glad that I don’t have to hide from you now when I’m ashamed of my sin. Thank you for your free gift of forgiveness and mercy.”
