Actor Gary Sinise Moved To Tears By ‘Thank You’ Video from Tom Hanks

A special video highlighting his work for veterans brought to tears the eyes of critically acclaimed actor Gary Sinise. In the movie Forrest Gump, you’ll recognize Gary as a tough guy detective Mac Taylor on CSI or the infamous Lieutenant Dan. He has been a constant on television and in movies throughout the years. But the true inspiration was his role behind the scenes. Gary has been dedicated to helping war veterans, first responders, and their families for decades. He expressed his gratitude in a speech saying, “You volunteered to serve your country in full knowledge of the risks and you paid that price for my freedom.” The actor continued to set up the Gary Sinise Foundation, which creates programs to help these individuals and provides them with essential elements such as homes, financial assistance and equipment for wounded men and women. This organization has blessed so many veterans and first responders.

Today, some of these individuals and fellow celebrities are offering their thanks to Gary for his endless hard work and dedication. As one heartwarming message plays after another, Gary is moved to tears. The video showcases firefighters, veterans, friends, families and many other loved ones as they explain just how much this organization has accomplished. There’s even a special message from Forrest Gump himself, Tom Hanks.

It is so incredible to see celebrities use their fame for good causes, such as this one. Gary and his organization have honestly transformed lives and I’m so glad that he’s getting the thanks that he deserves.
