Do You Have Power Over Your Life?

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

2 Peter 1:3

Ultimate Authority

A person with real power and authority never needs to bully anyone. They rest in the confidence of knowing what they can do if necessary to accomplish their responsibilities. These people are often natural leaders who inspire confidence in the people around them. They respect others and earn their followers’ respect, rather than demanding it because of title, rank, or position.

God holds ultimate authority and will always be more powerful than anyone or anything we can imagine. Yet he wields his power and holiness with compassion and mercy, patiently pursuing us when we stray and guiding us in his ways. God is not a bully or dictator. He’s a loving Father.

Welcome the opportunities to obey God today as ways to recognize and honor his glorious authority and grace-filled power.

Pray: “Oh, Lord, I’m humbled and amazed when I consider your vast power and infinite mercy. Thank you for the way you wield them together as my loving Father.”
