The world of entertainment can be one that is very exciting and with lots of attention focused on the celebrity. This can include many of one’s personal daily living exposed by paparazzi and media. Sometimes it’s the favorite coffee shop of a singer or the brand of shoes an actor wears. In the case of Candace Cameron Bure, it’s her life as a Christian.
The actress has a successful career, starting from her early days on the popular hit show Full House. Since then she has done other projects, been a Co-Host on The View and the Netflix series Fuller House.
Candace talked about her career and faith recently on the daytime program ‘The Wendy Williams Show.’ She shared that her beliefs at times caused her to not have opportunities. Despite these difficulties, she stayed confident with who she was and stood by her beliefs.
“I’ve chosen to be in family entertainment. That has been a very intentional decision on my part. I’ve always wanted to do family entertainment. I’ve never wanted to kind of go down a dark road even as an actress.”
We see this in the types of roles and programs Bure is a part of. She never compromises herself for a part. This is very encouraging, especially for women in entertainment, when many roles involve sex, nudity and more.
“I have experienced discrimination in the faith department, for sure, in my career, but I don’t experience it as much now. And I think because so many people know me for it, so I think they look to me for my faith.”
