Children are such blessings and God sure makes each child special! Being a parent and having a big family comes with its struggles, but it is also so rewarding to see all of your children grow up! Now, 6 children is a lot to handle, but imagine how much harder it is to have 6 children all at once!
Courtney and Eric Waldrop had welcomed their first son back in 2008. After that, the couple suffered a string of miscarriages after trying to expand their family. The couple was devastated and desperate to have more kids, so they turned to medical treatment in hopes it would help fulfill their dream of raising a big family. Courtney’s doctor ended up placing her on fertility treatments, and that eventually led to the conception of twin boys. But, after their fourth miscarriage, Courtney and Eric were still hoping for more kids.
Courtney was then placed on a lower dosage of fertility treatments that were intended to minimize the chances of Courtney carrying multiple fetuses. But, nothing could have prepared Courtney, who works a first-grade teacher, for what happened next! Not only did Courtney become pregnant with multiples, but doctors soon found out that this mother was now pregnant with sextuplets!
Now, finding out that your family will be growing by 6 is frightening but also exciting! In September of 2017, the Solitude Baptist Church held a fundraiser for the family. They then organized a gender reveal party and the clip went viral! Millions of people viewed the family’s gender reveal online, and Courtney was so excited to learn she would be having 3 daughters. People began to follow this family’s story, they hoped and prayed that the birth of these sextuplets would go as smoothly as possible. It was a risky pregnancy, but everyone was hopeful that and all six babies would be born healthy.
