Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes with the morning. – Psalm 30:5

All of us have faced disappointment and failure. Usually during these times we feel very alone, sometimes even abandoned by the ones who are closest to us. God feels distant. All we want is for someone to take us by the hand and tell us, “Things will not always be this way. You are going to be okay. You are going to feel happy again.” We want someone to offer us hope for something beyond what we can see and feel at this moment.

God offers us this kind of comfort directly through his Word. In Psalm 30, David praises God for lifting him up and saving his soul, restoring him and bestowing favor. He said these things to God after experiencing his own dark night of the soul, when he felt that he was as low as he could go. God came to him and restored his joy.

He will do the same for you.
