Live in the Moment
Did you ever feel blessed by something you didn’t understand and maybe even didn’t particularly want? It must have taken Mary a while to believe that an out-of-wedlock pregnancyand shotgun marriage were good things. However, in her visit to Elizabeth, God gave her the encouragement to believe in her strange calling. God gave her the faith that she would need to bear the Son of God.
Often we think that we do not have the faith to do the wonderful, courageous acts that we see in others’ lives. How did they get so strong? Why can I not accomplish these great things for God? The answer is living in the moment.
God is never early with his gifts to us. He has promised that we will have exactly what we need in the moment that we need it. Mary took the next step, and God was there to provide all of the courage and the faith and the grace to bear that moment. He will do that for you, too.
Pray: “Lord, help me to live in the moment. Show me your provision for me at this time and help me make the next step to which you have called me.”
