Tom Hanks talks about why his 28-year marriage is untouchable

Starring in hit films such as Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, and Sully, Tom Hanks is a Hollywood icon. More important than his role as an actor is his role as a loving husband. Tom and his wife Rita have been married for 29 years, which is quite remarkable considering the rate of divorce amongst Hollywood couples. Recently, Hanks was asked how his Hollywood marriage thrived while so many others have ended. His answer was amazing. Hanks told Entertainment Tonight, “When we first looked at each other there was definitely a kind of a, ‘Hey, this is the place!’ I felt that anyway. I think the end result is that we got married for all the right reasons” adding, “We just like each other. You start there.” “Life is one thing after another and it’s actually more pleasant to be able to go home with someone you like to spend time with in order to get with it,” he says. Tom and Rita stand as a wonderful example of a loving marriage. God bless their union!
