There is a God up above who looks down on his children and sometimes, he chooses to answer their prayers. Just ask Ashley Zach Meyer and she’ll tell you how true this is.
Becoming a mother is a challenging scenario for most women, but it was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for Ashley. Ashley was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a medical condition that affects the ovaries, rendering them ineffective.
To put it simply, Ashley was told that she’d never be able to have a baby. But, as we said earlier, there are miracles all around us. It wasn’t long before one happened in Ashley’s life. The young woman eventually got pregnant and even gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Adalee, proving her doctors wrong.
However, her problems didn’t exactly come to an end. When Adalee was born, she weighed a mere 14.5 ounces due to medical complications caused by Ashley’s PCOS. It seems when she was still in the womb as a fetus, she was deprived of amniotic fluid to aid her growth. But, that didn’t stop this little girl from fighting for survival. After all, she is her mother’s daughter.
When Adalee came out, she was no bigger than a can of Coke and greatly lacking in proper development. In fact, doctors referred to her as a ‘non-viable fetus’. In layman’s terms, it meant that Adalee wouldn’t survive.
But, days passed and Adalee refused to let go. Today, she is a year old and weighs around 12 pounds. The miracle baby, who was given a 20% chance of survival, continues to grow and bring joy to everyone.
