Almost twenty years ago, Julian Hernandez went missing abruptly.
When she made it back home from work, Julian’s mother discovered a note from Julian’s dad saying that he’d ran off with their son and would not be coming back.
Extremely heartbroken, Julian’s mother got in touch with the police right away to report that her son was missing.
What she didn’t realize was that Julian’s father had already put into motion an evil but nuanced plan to conceal their identities so that they would never be found.
Over the past twenty years, Julian’s mother has gotten a few hundred leads, but her searches ended up leading nowhere. As more time elapsed, she became even more upset and came to the realization that she would never see her son again.
But when Julian turned 18, something remarkable happened.
While going through college applications, Julian noticed that his social security number didn’t match his name.
Thinking originally that it was a problem on his end, Julian reached out for help from a school counselor. However, the counselor kept running into the same issue.
When they began to investigate further, she discovered Julian’s missing person profile via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
When she sent this information over to Julian, he was seriously disturbed. Julian would soon learn the truth behind his troubled past and the extent to which his father went to hide his identity.
Julian and his mother were able to have a reunion soon afterward, and she was thrilled to see him again.
Julian’s father’s case went to court, but Julian was merciful and asked that he stay out of prison.
According to Julian, he did not want to go through the same troubled experience he’d endured as a child growing up without a parent.
