Do you have a moment to study with us today?
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:11–12
In the middle of a vast body of water, the ocean or a large lake or river, it can be disorienting. If you can’t see the shore in any direction, it’s tough to know what’s what. And if the sun isn’t out to help with some east-to-west clues, it’s really tough. The horizon looks the same from every angle. We look from one corner of our line of sight to another and only see the dark blue water. We can’t imagine the distance from one side to the other.
Similarly, with stars, it’s hard to imagine the distance between them even when we read the scientific data with miles and light years. How much farther then must it be between planet earth and galaxies billions of miles away? Even if we find out, this distance still seems small when we consider how far God removes our sins from us.
He removes our transgressions beyond our ability to imagine. He forgives us wholly and completely. He loves us unconditionally.
