A Postal worker named Ivan Crisostomo was working his normal route in Sacramento, California when things took a shocking turn.
As Ivan climbed out of his mail truck to make a delivery, he heard the sound of someone crying coming from the bushes. That is when he spotted a frail 16-year-old girl named Crystal Allen huddled behind the bushes, all by herself.
Ivan noticed her behavior and appearance and that she was shaking uncontrollably. He knew something was wrong. He approached her and asked if everything was OK.
Crystal frantically pointed to the skin on her arms, crying, “They were putting things in me. They were putting things in me! They are coming to get me.”
In that moment, the quick-thinking postal worker realized the teenage girl had just escaped her abductor. For three months, Crystal had been held in captivity, repeatedly drugged and abused after someone she thought was a friend lured her to Sacramento.
The only thing Crystal wanted to do was call her mother, but she was too shaken and shocked to even speak.
Ivan, the hero postal worker, stepped in and became her guardian angel.
