When you’re 9 years old, you don’t expect horrible things to happen to you. In fact, your definition of horrible is probably limited to missing out on your favorite cartoon or not being allowed to eat your favorite candy. But, sometimes, God likes to remind even children just how fragile and precious life can be. In fact, he uses those very experiences to bring people together, and restore the hope of his presence amidst them.

That’s what happened in 9-year-old Jalen Manns’s life. The young man from Georgia was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was to be operated. Needless to say, it wasn’t easy for young Jalen, who according to his mother Hannah Manns, was worried and extremely anxious.

On the morning of July 13th, Jalen woke up and began to make his way to the hospital. As he was about to start his routine, there was a knock on the door. Hannah opened the door only to find a group of police officers who said they wanted to speak with Jaden.

Apparently, the Warner Robins Police Department had come across the news of Jalen’s surgery and wanted to show him their support. So, they landed at his house with their K-9 unit, just to encourage the young fella before he went in for his surgery. Somehow, they also learned that little Jalen loved German Shepherds.

If that brought tears to your eyes, what one of the officers did next will make you bawl your eyes out. One of the K-9 unit’s officer knelt down beside Jalen and began to pray passionately.

This is a perfect example of how God listens even to our smallest prayers.
