If you’ve ever given birth to a baby, you really can understand how much pain your body is capable of going through in the process. Think then, for a moment, about one mom who delivered a group of sextuplets! And that’s not all! All 6 babies were born within 9 minutes.
The babies, made up of two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls, were delivered by Thelma Chiaki at the Woman’s Hospital in Texas, Houston.
Once Thelma Chiaki was pregnant, she was probably overjoyed at the possibility of bringing new life into the world. Little did she know she was destined to deliver SIX children. A photo of the proud mama, which taken shortly after the birth of her 6 kids, is now going viral on Facebook for all the right reasons!
As reported, all six weighed at just two pounds when they were born between 4:50 am and 4:59 am. They’re all in a stable state in the NICU, with Thelma’s medical team watching over them. Thelma calls her daughters Zina and Zuriel – but she’s not really sure what she wants to name her other four children yet!
Incredibly, the odds of giving birth to sextuplets are 1 in 4.7 billion, which makes Thelma’s babies unusual indeed. However, miracles do happen, and it’s great to see both mother and children do well in the aftermath of what must have been a very intense ordeal.
