With so many incidents of child abduction and sex trafficking being associated with local grocery stores nowadays, it has become really difficult to have faith in the basic goodness of mankind. But then something happens and your faith in humanity is restored. A similar incident occurred with Alyssa Hacker at a Fort Smith Target when she became worried after seeing a stranger playing with her baby while she shopped. She shares the details of the heart touching events that followed via a Facebook post that goes, “We were at Target waiting on Grammy and we found some dinosaurs. Owen grabbed all three and we were trying to pick out which one he wanted when Owen abruptly yelled ‘HI’ at this older man walking past us.” Hey sweet boy,” he responded, as he happily turned around to play dinosaurs with the toddler.”
She admits to being a little scared of the man’s closeness to her little one considering the gruesome stories she was accustomed to. She continues, “The man got his wallet out and pulled a $20 out, he put it in Owen’s pocket on his shirt and said ‘I just lost my 2-year-old grandson last week. You take this money and buy this boy all three dinosaurs’ and rubbed Owen’s back, wiped his tears and walked off. After Owen yelled ‘thank you’ the gentleman turned around and yelled boomer sooner!” Astounded by what she had just witnessed, Alyssa burst into tears as her heart filled with gratitude. She signed off the post with, “There is still some good in this world!”
