If one thing is certain, it’s that life is surprising at every turn. However, some surprises can change life incredibly. This can certainly be attested to by the young couple Eliza Curby and Ben from Sydney, Australia. When the couple had their first child, they were thrilled. They named their son Charlie.
For all new parents, the birth of their first child means the same thing: learning the ropes. This is no easy feat, of course, and Eliza and Ben have been working hard to manage their new family. New hormonal balances for mothers also come with having a baby. After Charlie’s birth, Eliza certainly felt ‘off’ around 6 weeks after giving birth. She was tired all the time. At first, she assumed that her immense exhaustion was simply due to her new role as a mother. But Eliza’s feeling became stranger and stranger as time progressed.
Eliza couldn’t shake the uncanny feeling that she was just, well, pregnant. But of course, with her firstborn a couple of weeks old, she repeatedly dismissed the idea. One day, bewildered, she went to the pharmacy to take a pregnancy test-while still nursing her newborn.
Her bewilderment soon turned into utter awe. The first test showed she was positive and indeed pregnant. It took an additional few tests (four in total!) before Eliza accepted the unlikely fact that she was indeed pregnant.
And it gets more stunning. When Ben and Eliza visited the doctor, they discovered that not only was she indeed pregnant — she was carrying a pair of twins! It looked like little Charlie would soon assume the role of big sister — to two identical twin boys.
Needless to say, the couple was shocked — but they were also excited.

Ben and Eliza ploughed through despite their unimaginable surprise and the daunting task of caring for a small baby. Eliza did an amazing job and took her twins to a term of 36 weeks before the young couple welcomed the younger brothers of Charlie into the world. The twins were named Jack Antony Richard and Wolfe George Harry. Their blessed arrival meant that the family grew in less than a year from two to five!
Despite these incredible challenges, Ben and Eliza’s love for each other remained steadfast.
