Love him or hate him, the once-raucous singer Justin Bieber is now a Christian, and he is using his platform to glorify the Lord whenever he can.
At a recent concert in Paris, after he sang all the songs he is contractually obligated to sing, he led the crowd in worship.
In recent interviews, Justin shares his faith – albeit sometimes awkwardly – and his journey back to faith. The key for him was the realization God’s love is enough for us and relationship is what life is all about.
“If we’re made on this Earth to have relationships with people, then that’s how our God is supposed to be. No (sic) just this idea or this thing,” said Bieber. “He loves you no matter what. It doesn’t mean you can do what you want…But if I love my girlfriend, I’m not going to cheat on her because I love her so much… [likewise] you develop a relationship with God [and] you don’t want to…be judgmental… [or] hurt people,” he goes on to explain.
Pastored by Karl Lentz of Hillsong Justin is learning that faith is something you work out. While the world (via tabloids mostly) won’t let go of some of the more notorious moments of his past, he is glad God forgives and makes us into new creatures.
We pray for Justin as he grows in his faith and ask the Lord to continue to mature him and show him favor so he can keep sharing the good news.
