Eugene Hinton works at a local Elementary School in Moody, Alabama as a custodian. He works hard to keep the floors and classroom tidy.
One day, he was requested by Andrea Orr, an instructor to help with a dirty situation. He quickly showed up with his cleaning tools, and unknowingly walked into his own celebration as kids shouted “surprise!”
Eugene was in complete shock and overwhelmingly touched at the gathering.
The school was excited to recognize Eugene for National Custodian Day, to express gratitude and love. As a long time employee, both students and teachers light up from his positive energy and playful fist bumps.
The kids and teachers brought presents, notes, and even made a sign that read “Thanks, Mr. Eugene, for always lending a helping hand,” with hand prints all over.
Andrea captured the sweet moment of amazement on video as he arrived.
“I totally lost it. I wasn’t expecting it at all,” Eugene stated.
