Do you have Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you.
Psalm 118:26
You may have heard the expression “don’t shoot the messenger,” which means that we should not hold the deliverer of bad news responsible for the message itself. On the other hand, everyone loves to deliver good news—whether it’s the announcement of a new promotion, excitement over a new addition to the family, or positive results from another’s exam. While we can’t always take credit for the good news, we can celebrate with the recipient.
When we live by faith as followers of Jesus, we bring good news wherever we go. It may not always be what others around us want to hear, but ultimately it’s what each and every one of us longs to hear. We want to believe there’s meaning in life and hope for the future. We want to experience the deep, abiding love of God in ways that transform our lives.
There’s no better news we can share with anyone than the love of God through the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ.
