According to the Daily News, the New York couple Joan Sell Chapple, 87, and her husband Warren Capple, 93, were married for more than 70 years. The couple stayed together wherever they went since the day they were married. Warren and Joan shared a home in New York’s West Sand Lake. Originally from Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Joan worked as a seamstress and homemaker for most of her days. Warren was born in Plattsburgh, New York. He was a veteran of the Navy, an avid fan of Mets. He retired 30 years ago as a service technician.
Later on in life, Joan battled Alzheimer’s for years, and moved into a nursing home seven years ago as her disease progressed.
But Warren saw to it that they would still be together day in and day out.
For two years consecutively, Warren would drive 10 miles to the nursing home to give Joan her breakfast and return in the evening to feed her dinner. Warren would then rest with his wife until she fell asleep.

Joan wasn’t isolated with her health problems, as Warren had struggles of his own to contend with. He suffered from esophageal cancer, which began to progress in January.
With Warren’s cancer growing, he was no longer able to visit Joan the way he wanted. The last time he saw her was on Jan. 28. She passed away on Feb. 17 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.
With Warren always worrying about his wife, he had asked his son, Marc, how she was doing.
“She’s gone,” Marc said to his father. “You can go now.”
Warren passed away the day after his wife did.
While no one is positive what caused Joan and Warren to pass only a day apart, their family is certain that they had an undeniable connection with each other, and that they are together again.
“He lived for my mother,” Marc said to the Times Union.
“He kept her alive with that love,” Marc’s wife Pattie added.
“They were always together,” Pattie said. “They’re still together.”
