It’s not very often that you hear that someone has lived to be 106 years old. Thus, when someone gets to be that old we all look to them for advice in our own lives.

For Ruth Hilliard, her secret is pretty straightforward, and it doesn’t involve too much effort.  All you have to do is believe in God.

Ruth grew up in an era where technology didn’t dictate everyone’s lives and many commonplace 20th century products were only in their infancy.

Although she’s been out of the workforce for quite some time, there’s still a vital lesson we can all take away from Ruth, a former teacher who instructed students in both schools and church, according to ABC 11.

Keep your strong faith in God.

The 106-year-old woman believes it’s because of her faith in God that she’s been able to live so long.

She also says that she’s been given 106 years of life to interpret and get to know the importance of her favorite Bible passage, Psalms 91:15-16.

“He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
