Lavish Love

Lavish is one of those words that make us think of elegance and luxury, something that’s intended to pamper us and reflect our true worth. Things like spa days, surprise vacations, and designer gifts may come to mind. We assume that wealthy people lavish these kinds of perks on their family and loved ones.

God may not bless us with material possessions or the luxury items we see in fancy advertisements, but he lavishes us with his love every day. With air to breathe, food for our bodies, and water to drink, we’re reminded that what we often take for granted is still a gift. The people in our lives, the place we live, the work we do—all evidence of the blessings our Father bestows on us because he loves us.

Today, remember that you are God’s precious child, a son or daughter of the King.

Pray: “Dear God, it’s hard for me to fathom just how much you love me. Thank you for the many ways you continue to show me your love.”
